About me

I have 17+ years of experience working in combined outpatient, inpatient, clinical review, crisis services, and recovery-oriented settings. I have published within the areas of addiction, evidence-based treatment, client-centered therapy, and survivor guilt. I maintain a private practice, academic appointments, and work in the addiction recovery community. I completed my clinical training at Nova Southeastern University. I went on to do additional doctoral training in conflict analysis and resolution before completing a doctoral degree in addiction psychology. I use the combined knowledge to enrich the services I provide.

I have completed training in motivational interviewing/motivational enhancement, cognitive behavioral therapy, guided self-change, solution-focused, exposure therapy, meditation, performance coaching, and client-centered techniques. I integrate these approaches into a tailored and individualized approach.

Doing work in on yourself is a journey that often asks us to examine how we understand ourselves. During this period of self-exploration, it can ask us to challenge how we see things and to discuss things from new perspectives. I am here to help you explore which approaches and techniques can help you to be conscious in this exploration and to develop skills to handle new challenges and support to examine the things that are important to you.

“Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, and today is a gift, that is why we call it the present”.

Don’t let your yesterday define your tomorrow; and keep you in the today, reflecting on your past, being feeling defined by the aspects that you feel hold you back. We can find a better way—a way to use the tools to grow past these challenges and live consciously toward our intended future.
