About me
I have over 16 years of experience working in the mental health, behavioral health, and substance abuse fields. I have a Doctorate in Professional Counseling with a concentration on trauma, grief, and loss. I also hold a Master of Arts degree in counseling and a Master of Arts degree with a Theology concentration. I have licenses for LPC (licensed professional counselor) and LCDC (licensed chemical dependency counselor); certifications include Spiritual Direction, and Certified Anger Management Specialist, II (CAMS II).
Additionally, I work with the adult and geriatric community. My specialty in counseling consists of anxiety, depression, trauma/PTSD, Spirituality; bereavement; grief and loss, isolation, loneliness; career counseling, alcohol/drug abuse, mood disorders, personality disorders, neurodevelopmental disorders, anger management; motivational interviewing; low self-esteem, self-confidence, assertiveness; life changes; financial/budgeting; effective communication skills; coping skills, decision-making, problem-solving, individual and group counseling. I also provide counseling/education in HIV/AIDS, STD/STI, and physical/medical-related issues. My treatment approach consists of eclectic and multi-modal therapy.
